What’s this metal coolant pipe under the heater core hoses?

Can anyone help me identify this metal coolant pipe? It connects to the bottom of the heater core hoses on my 2014 Expedition XL. I’ve been trying to find a part number but no luck so far.

It runs under the front passenger side wheel well and sits really close to a black metal piece. Over time, it’s started to rub against it and now has a slit in the pipe. I added a zip tie to lift it off the metal and stop further damage for now.

That’s for rear zone heat.

Thank you! That’s a big help!

Ford doesn’t sell that as an individual pipe. They only sell the entire tee-shaped assembly. It’s part of the heater hose setup. You can replace it yourself with a Dorman tee, a Dorman quick disconnect, and a generic hose to DIY it.

@Val
Thanks for the info! That gives me a good starting point.

If the metal pipe to the rear heater is the one with the hole, here’s a temporary fix: use high-temp sealant tape and a hose clamp over the hole. That should hold you over until replacement parts arrive. The Expedition’s coolant system runs at 16-20 psi when hot, so this fix should last a few days.

For replacement parts, the manual lists the auxiliary heater lines as multi-piece kits. The inlet line is part #18663, and the outlet line is part #18696. If you don’t have a manual, PM me, and I can send you pictures of the diagrams.

This is super helpful! I’ll try the sealant tape and get those part numbers lined up. Thanks so much!
