There are two empty spots on the front of our 2021 Expedition that seem like they could be meant for lights or something, but they’re just sitting there unused. Maybe they’re for law enforcement setups? Anyway, there’s a wire bundle running behind them, and I only noticed it because something bumped one of the spots and pushed it in a little. Any ideas? I was thinking it’d be awesome to install another set of fog lights down there that turn on with the high beams, but I haven’t found anything online that looks good for it yet.
Front tow hooks on my 2020 Platinum MAX.
Looks like they come standard with 4x4, but you can add them to 2WD models too.
That’s where the tow hooks would be if you had four-wheel drive.
I removed my tow hooks and replaced them with base plates for flat towing. They look like big gun barrels sticking out now, which is kind of amusing.

Wait, you actually tow this thing?
@Kyrie
Yep, sure do!
Tow hooks.
It could be for tow hooks or maybe mounts for a light bar, like the ones law enforcement vehicles use. Either option would work depending on what you need.

Tow hooks might just be for looks since this thing never leaves the pavement, but I really like the idea of using the spot to mount a light bar.
@Charlie
Tow hooks are just for looks until you actually need them. Then you’ll be glad they’re there.
