Got a weird rattle from the driver’s side when going over bumps, but only when the window’s down. Checked around but can’t figure it out. Anyone else deal with this? What was the fix?
Check the door panel. Had something loose inside mine. Tightened some screws, noise gone.
I had this on my '16, it was just a loose weather strip. Quick fix with adhesive.
When mine rattled it was just some seatbelt mechanism. Sounded like it was the door but nope.
It could be something in the door pocket? I’ve had stuff rattle there before.
Man, I thought my rattle was the window, but it was just a water bottle rolling around.
Maybe it’s the window regulator? Mine had a loose bolt, and it rattled only with the window down.
Did you have to take the whole door panel off to get to it? I’m kinda lazy but if it works, it works
Yeah, but it’s not too bad. Just a few screws and pop it off. Maybe 20 mins tops.
Ohh…seatbelt mechanism, huh? Would never have thought to check that. I’ll give it a look, thanks.
Yup. Drove me crazy for weeks, then I noticed the rattle stopped if I pulled on the seatbelt. Worth a try.
Lol, I was convinced mine was something serious, but nope, just that weather strip. Good luck finding yours.
I second this. I once spent hours chasing a rattle, only to find out it was a rogue Tic-Tac in the cup holder.
These things are like rolling sound machines with all the random stuff we toss in
Seriously, Ford should sell rattles as a feature at this point.
My trunk rattles too. Just figured it’s the car’s way of saying it’s had enough of hauling my junk
Right? At this point, I’m thinking of just cranking the radio and calling it a day.
That’s the ultimate fix for all rattles: louder music. Problem solved.
If all else fails, hit the dash a few times. My grandpa does that a lot.
LOL! I’ve already tried smacking things around—no luck. But at least it made me feel better.
