I need to replace the tires on my 2022 Expedition (22-inch wheels). If you live in South Florida, you know how fast the roads chew up tires. I don’t care about off-road capability or brand, I just want something with a smooth ride, good in the rain, and that lasts more than 15k miles.
Michelin Defenders.

They’re rated for 80,000 miles. I’ve had them on my vehicle, and they’ve been solid.
@Denny
Are you in South Florida? I feel lucky if I get 15k miles out of any tires here.

I’m actually up north, sorry. But Michelin tires are some of the best, so you’d probably get the most life out of them even down there.
@Denny
No problem! I’m from up north originally too and was shocked by how fast tires wear out down here.

Yeah, my parents have a place in Florida, and every time I visit, they’ve either just replaced their tires or are about to. Not sure what brand they use, though.

I have the Michelin Defender LTX M/S on mine. I’m in coastal South Carolina, which is notorious for potholes! They’ve lasted me about 30k miles so far. Lots of local driving and some road trips, and they handle rain really well. I’d buy them again.
@Tate
Thanks!
@Tate
I’ve got the same ones. Great tires, way better than the stock ones that came with the car.

I bought mine used, and they already had the Defenders, but I replaced them with new ones when needed. I’m sticking with them for sure.

I get around 70,000-80,000 miles.
I used Pirelli Scorpion all-season tires on my old Explorer (I know, not an Expedition), but they were great on the road and handled everything really well.

Honestly, not much. I heavily customized that Explorer and didn’t drive it much before swapping them out. Probably didn’t even hit 1,000 miles, but they felt great when they were on!
Michelin with a tread life warranty. I use it all the time, usually get about half off a new set of tires.

How hard is it to claim that warranty?

Super easy at Discount Tire. The warranty kicks in at 2/32 tread, but when I go in for rotations, they try to sell me new tires if any part of a tire is at 4/32. I agree, and then when I check out, I mention the warranty. They usually give me 50-60% off new tires. If they don’t budge, I just wait until the next rotation. Haven’t paid full price for Michelins in years!
Yeah, South Florida roads are brutal on tires. I’m lucky to get 20-25k miles out of a set. Michelin Defenders have been the best for me so far, averaging around 20-25k.
