Need help with my 2019 Limited… any advice?

Hi everyone, I just bought a 2019 Limited with 50k miles and a towing package. It’s super clean and seems well cared for, but I got it as-is. After reading through this forum, I’ve noticed a lot of people mention transmission problems with this model. Is there anything I can do to avoid issues? Should I look into buying an extended warranty?

You should think about getting an extended warranty. How much do you drive in a year?

Any suggestions on where to get one? I don’t drive much, probably less than 6k miles a year.

@Juno
I’m not an expert, but I got mine through the dealer. Maybe ask them?

If you just got it, you should visit a Ford dealership and ask if you can still buy a Ford warranty. Some dealerships have a window, like 30-90 days, where you can still purchase one. Paying cash for it is usually better than adding it to a loan. Good luck!

Do you know what a fair price is? Can I negotiate that?

The last one I looked at was around $1600-$1790, if I remember right. Any warranty is usually cheaper than a new transmission, so keep that in mind.

We paid over $3k for ours, but it’s been totally worth it. We have a 2019 Limited Max.

I’ve bought warranties for several cars this way. Lombard Ford is a great place to get one. They send out discount codes after you get a quote. Their service is awesome. When I sold my 10-year-old Explorer, I canceled the warranty and they even sent me a $200 refund check!

@Stevie
Thanks for the tip! I’ll check them out.

Any thoughts on which warranty plan I should go for?

I always go for the top-tier plan with a $100 deductible and about five extra years of coverage. You can play around with the options and see which one gives you the best value for your budget.
