Is Anyone Else Having Trouble with Their Doors Rubbing?

Hey everyone, got a bit of a puzzle here. I’ve got a 2023 Platinum Limited Max, and I noticed something strange. The rear passenger door seems to be rubbing against the front passenger door when I open it. It’s even started to wear away the paint a little. What’s weird is it doesn’t seem to happen all the time—noticed it when I first got the car, but on my driveway, it’s not an issue. We keep the baby seat on that side, so the door doesn’t get a lot of use. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips or fixes?

My rear passenger door also started rubbing not long ago. I think it’s a door alignment issue. Took it to the dealer, and they had to realign it.

Oh man, that’s annoying. I’ve got the same model, and I noticed something similar, though not as bad. Mine only does it when I park on uneven ground. I also took it to the dealer, and they adjusted the hinges a bit.

I haven’t had this issue personally, but my buddy did with his older Expedition. He ended up putting some clear door edge guards on both doors to stop the paint from rubbing off while he figured out a permanent fix. Maybe try that in the meantime?

You might want to check if the frame’s aligned correctly. Maybe the body is slightly off-kilter.

Sounds like something that could turn into a bigger problem if not addressed. If it were me, I’d get it checked out sooner rather than later. No one wants to deal with rust or more paint damage.

I’ve had some minor rubbing, but it was just the rubber seal getting compressed. A little silicone spray, and it stopped. Maybe give that a try?
