Fuel Door Won't Open - Need Help

Hey folks, I’m having trouble with my 2024 Ford Expedition. The fuel door is jammed, and I can’t seem to find the manual release cable. Anyone know where I can find it or how to get the door open manually?

Have you tried checking the area around the hinge of the fuel door? Sometimes there’s a small access panel you can remove to get to the manual release. It could be hiding there.

Sounds frustrating, you might want to look inside your vehicle’s trunk area. There’s often a manual release cable accessible from there.

If you don’t see a manual release cable, try using a plastic trim tool to gently pry the door open. Just be careful not to scratch the paint. :grimacing:

Hey, just to be sure, double-check your owner’s manual to see if there’s a section specifically for troubleshooting fuel door issues. It might have a diagram or additional tips

You can try checking under the dashboard near the fuel door release button. Some models have a manual release cable tucked up there. It’s a bit of a tight spot, but you might find it.

Try giving the fuel door a firm but gentle tap while pulling the release handle. Sometimes they just get stuck and need a little extra encouragement.
