Ford Expedition Owners… How Many Miles Have You Gotten?

I’ve been hearing Ford Expeditions are among the vehicles that can last 250k miles or more. What’s your experience? Share your mileage and any issues you’ve faced along the way!

My wife’s 2021 Expedition has 133k miles with zero issues so far.

What trim do you have? How long have you owned it?

I just bought a 2021 XLT with 58k, and I’m freaking out after reading some horror stories online.

@Gale
It’s a Limited. We’ve had it since new in 2021. We’ve taken it on tons of trips from Illinois to Colorado, and it’s been rock solid.

I’ve got a 2019 with just over 50k miles. Hoping to get close to that 250k mark too!

I’m at 204k miles on my 2010 Expedition, and it’s still going strong.

231k on my 2001 XLT. Doesn’t burn a drop of oil between changes.

I’m about to pay off my 2016 Expedition, and it’s just under 100k miles. Fingers crossed it keeps running smoothly!

I’ve got 265k miles on my 2014 Expedition.

Did you ever have to replace the oil pan gasket?

No, never had an issue with that. The electric side of the ABS module went out once, and I had a minor issue with the MAF wiring harness, but I just adjusted it and zip-tied it, and it’s been fine for over 150k miles.

I’ve always used 5w-30 oil and change it every 3-5k miles. I’ve replaced the spark plugs three times in total.

@Tan
Interesting! Did your dealer recommend switching to 5w-30, or did you decide to use it since it’s high mileage? Mine has 135k, and I’ve stuck with 5w-20 but also change it every 3-5k.

I think my gasket gave out because the temperatures here hit 120°F regularly, and the asphalt gets even hotter!

@Sage
I switched to 5w-30 on my own based on my experience with other 5.4 engines. It’s pretty hot here in southeast Texas too, so I get it.

203k miles on my 2001 Expedition. Still runs great, but it’s not winning any beauty contests. :joy:

That’s my goal too! Hoping mine makes it to 250k.

275k miles on my 2017 Expedition. It’s been amazing.

I’ve got 125k miles on my 2017 and haven’t had any problems.

175k miles on my 2017 and still no issues.

267k miles on my 2007 Expedition. It hasn’t been problem-free, but it’s been reliable overall.
