Well, there are only so many ways to design a boxy SUV, right? What were you expecting?
I don’t see it looking like GM’s designs at all. And that middle model? It’s an Armada, not even close. I love the exterior of the 2025 Expedition, but I’m not a fan of the interior dash and screens.

That middle model is actually a Patrol, not an Armada.
I don’t get why people say Ford copied GM, but no one mentions the opposite. No one has said how the new Yukon’s dash and 16-inch screen are almost identical to the 15-inch screen in the current Expedition setup. GM did some design work to make it look more integrated, but the layout is nearly the same. Plus, Ford’s been doing black/chrome tailgate appliques for almost a decade with their Edge and F-150 models. GM didn’t invent that. All of these vehicles, Tahoe, Armada, and Expedition, were in development around the same time, so how can one be copying the other unless the trend was already happening? Honestly, I like the Expedition’s new dash. Took some time to get used to it, but once I saw it from the driver’s side, I started liking it more. The interior actually reminds me a lot of the Koreans’ designs—Kia, Hyundai, Genesis. As for the exterior, other than the tailgate applique, I think it looks better than most of its competitors, except maybe the Tahoe, but GM really nails the wheel designs.

I’ve got a 2024 Expedition, and I thought the same thing about the 15-inch screen and the 2025 Yukon’s 16-inch screen. It’s almost the same setup. I bought the Expedition because I liked how Sync 4 works. I’ve got the Google system in my C8, but I don’t like it. It only works if you keep it connected, and since I use Android Auto, I get all those features for free. People with Apple CarPlay are the only ones really benefiting from Google’s system, since it’s way better than Apple’s. Overall, I think GM does a better job with exterior design, though. The Expedition’s still just a box on the outside with little curve, but I like GM’s more bloated look. Tech-wise, Ford is ahead of GM. To get something comparable to a loaded Expedition, you need to get a Yukon Denali or Escalade.
You can’t really say that the Patrol is a copy here. There was only like a month between the new Expedition and the new Patrol, and honestly, the Expedition looks pretty much the same as its last generation, just with some slight changes that make it… kind of ugly.

Ford, please bring back the Ford Excursion! It’s crazy that 20 years later, your best SUV still can’t out-tow your last great SUV.

Honestly, they all copy each other. But I think Ford really missed the mark with the 2025 model. The interior? I absolutely hate it. Instead of getting another one, I think I’ll go back to Lincoln and get a Nautilus again.

I wish I could downsize to a Nautilus, but I need something bigger. Not sure what to do for our next replacement.
