After waiting what felt like forever, my Expedition Timberline is finally here. This thing has exceeded all my expectations. Anyone else who’s got one, how are you liking it?
That looks awesome, love the dark green and black combo! Enjoy the ride!

Thanks! It actually looks even better in person. I wasn’t expecting to love it this much. My wife picked the color, so full credit goes to her!
Oof, just looking at this makes my wallet cry.
Looks amazing! That’s a $70,000 vehicle right there.

Ford dealerships: Actually, it’s a $91,000 car, thanks to custom floormats and other “extras” you didn’t ask for!

MSRP was around $80k with the high equipment group. The interior definitely feels high-end though, almost in Navigator territory.
@Luca
I remember when my parents bought a brand-new 2005 Expedition for $40k, and my dad thought that was insane. Times have definitely changed. By the way, what are the specs on the 3.5 in this Timberline? Always felt the Explorer’s engine could use more oomph.
@Zane
This one has the high-output 3.5L, standard for the Timberline, with 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. It’s definitely got some punch. The 10-speed transmission is a bit clunky, though—my other car is an AMG C63, so the comparison isn’t exactly fair.
@Luca
Yeah, I’ve heard mixed reviews about that 10-speed. I’ve got a Fusion with a 6-speed, and while it has its quirks, it gets the job done. I’d probably be annoyed waiting for the 10-speed to find the right gear.
@Zane
The 6-speed in the Fusion is infamous! It feels like it’s searching for gears like a kid rummaging through a toy bin. And then, clunk!

Haha, exactly! You really have to work around it. But it’s a decent car otherwise.
@Zane
Don’t get me wrong, I love my Fusion. It checks all the boxes—AWD, cooled seats, moonroof—all for under $25k. But yeah, that transmission could’ve been way better.

Agreed. AWD turbo sedans are rare unless you’re spending big money on Audi or similar. I’d probably go for an MKZ next time—400 hp sounds like a good deal if you can look past some quality issues.
@Zane
Seems like Lincoln is overlooked for sure. The MKZ is underrated.
@Luca
I’ve got a 2020 Explorer, and the 10-speed can definitely be jerky at low speeds. It’s annoying leaving my neighborhood, but you kind of get used to it.
@Luca
Ford’s 3.5 has come a long way. I’ve got one in my SHO and another in an older Expedition. It’s impressive, but yeah, the Ecoboost reputation can be a bit dicey.

Haha, ‘Ecoboom.’ Ford should trademark that for something.

Dealerships always claim their nitrogen-filled tires are worth every penny!
Looks great. Wish this package was available in more models.
