Anyone had Trouble with Keyless Entry on a 2013 Expedition?

Picked up a 2013 Expedition last week for a steal. Everything works great, but I can’t get the keyless entry to function or reprogram it. The remote start is working fine though. Anyone run into this before or know a fix?

I had the same issue on my 2012 model. It turned out the keypad itself was faulty. I ended up replacing it, and everything worked fine after that.

Could be the battery in the key fob, man. I had my keyless entry act up on me, had to swap out the battery, and it worked like new.

The problem might be with the module that controls the keyless entry. Get a mechanic to reflash the system and get everything synced up again. You might wanna check into that.

Are you sure you’re using the right process for programming? Ford’s system is kinda tricky if you miss a step. Took me a couple of tries to figure it out.

I actually just gave up on the keyless entry and stuck with the remote start. Honestly, I never even use the keypad, so it didn’t bother me too much.

Check the fuse box, might be just a blown fuse. Super easy fix. If that’s not it, maybe the keypad needs to be replaced like @OverlandExpedition said.

I’ve heard of this happening when people accidentally lock out the keyless system from too many wrong codes. You can try going to the dealership to reset it.

And by the way, does your keypad light up at all? If it’s completely dead, could be an electrical issue. But if it lights up and just doesn’t respond, maybe try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes.
