Anyone else dealing with a rattle in their '24 Platinum?

Got a brand-new Platinum Max for my wife last Friday. Took a ride today and noticed an annoying rattle from the headliner. Someone in the third row pushed near the sunroof, and it stopped temporarily, but it comes back with even small bumps. I looked online and found this might have been a problem with earlier models, addressed by a TSB. Anyone have advice or similar experiences?

Take it to the dealer. That’s your best option.

Definitely. I just want to be prepared before going in because I’m not wasting my time arguing with service staff. This is my first American car, and based on what I’ve read and experienced, I’m not expecting it to be smooth.

They’ll need to replicate the problem first.

I get that, but my concern is them doing a quick test drive and saying they couldn’t hear anything. If it’s documented somewhere, it’ll help me push back.

Depends on your dealership. Mine requires appointments and is often booked, but they provide free loaners. They’ve been great to work with so far.

Is that the same rattle I hear? My 2021 Limited Max rattles every time I hit a bump. Maybe I’ll have someone push around up there.

Could be. If it is, this TSB might help.

@Palmer
Doesn’t that TSB focus on grinding or rattling when operating the sunroof?

My 2019 has a similar issue. I think it’s the sunroof motor.

You just need to lube it with Krytox. Service can do it at your next oil change, or you can grab a $20 tube on Amazon.

Appreciate the tip!

I had a loose ceiling-mounted grab handle causing a rattle. Try holding the handle when you hear it. If it stops, tighten the screw under the cap with a hex or star head.

Here’s what worked for my 2021 Powerboost after multiple failed dealership visits: Lubricate the rubber roof gasket. I used an RV rubber seal conditioner, which worked perfectly. Just make sure to get it into the grooves without damaging the seal. This took me 3 minutes and saved me a ton of hassle. Look up videos on YouTube if you need a guide.
