2024 ford expedition discounts... worth it?

Hey y’all, I’m looking to buy a new Expedition, and I noticed the 2024 models are discounted pretty heavily—up to $10k off MSRP in some cases. Ford is also offering interest rate incentives for buyers with good credit (we have excellent credit). Does anyone know if it’s an either/or situation, or does it depend on the dealer? I’m about an hour north of Houston. Any tips or advice before I make the purchase?

Any dealer advertising $10k off is probably including rebates that don’t stack or adding dealer fees you might not qualify for.

Yeah, I’ve seen that too. Quick question: if I find the car I want, can dealerships do custom add-ons like chrome delete or tint? Also, do you think waiting for the 2025 models to come out would make it easier to get a better deal on a 2024?

@Eli
Most dealers work with vendors for customizations, but it’s usually cheaper to go to a shop yourself. The only perk of doing it at the dealer is rolling it into the financing.

As for waiting, it’s a gamble. Ford tends to stop sending out 2024s a few months before the 2025s arrive. By then, the selection on 2024s might be limited, especially if you’re picky about features.

@Chen
Thanks for the insight! Looks like the $3k rebate expired yesterday. Do you think another similar deal will come up soon?

Actually, it’s now $4k or $1k with special FMCC rates.

@Chen
Oh, I see that now on some listings. Thanks for pointing it out! What about those dealer discounts? I’ve seen some claiming $8k off plus the $4k rebate. Feels like there’s gotta be a catch, right?

@Eli
Exactly. There’s no $8k of markup on these cars. If they’re advertising that, it’s likely a loaner vehicle with some miles on it or they’ve added fees. Always check the details.

Good to know! Appreciate the heads-up.

How much of a discount can you usually get on a loaner vehicle?

@Alix
Ford gives dealers an extra $1k–$1.5k based on how long the car was used as a loaner. The discount won’t be huge, but it’s something.
