Wireless charger in 2024 Expedition Max Limited … is mine missing a part?

I’m confused about the design of the wireless charging pad in my 2024 Expedition Max Limited. Whenever I place my phone on it, it just slides right off. It feels like there should be a lip or something to keep it in place. The fact that no one else seems to mention this makes me wonder if my car is missing a trim piece or something. Anyone else run into this?

My 2024 has a lip to hold the phone, but honestly, it still charges poorly.

Same here with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. It struggles to charge, but my wife’s regular iPhone 14 works better. Cases don’t seem to matter.

2024 F-150 here, and yeah, the wireless charging is garbage.

My 2022 has a wireless charger, but it’s useless. It either doesn’t work or overheats the phone. I can’t imagine a worse design unless they mounted it on the roof.

Sounds like you’re missing a trim piece. On my 2020 Platinum, it’s part number jl1b-78047a74-b.

Yep, you’re missing a piece.

There should be a little plastic lip at the bottom to keep your phone from sliding around. Might want to check if it fell off or see about replacing it.

Our 2023 Max Limited has a lip, but even with it, the charger barely holds the phone in place. I’ve only used it twice because it’s so bad.

Our 2024 XLT with the 202A package has a lip too.

The wireless charger in my 2019 is terrible. It overheats the phone, charges super slowly, and doesn’t hold the phone in place. I just use the USB ports instead.

My daughter once pulled off the piece that holds the phone, and I had the same issue until it mysteriously reappeared. Maybe check around your car to see if it fell out?

My iPhone 14 Pro works fine on ours, but my wife’s iPhone 15 Plus doesn’t fit well and overheats. Sounds like you’re missing a piece.

Are you using a MagSafe case? Those hold much better on these chargers compared to regular cases.

Try pulling the pad out and turning it around. Might help.

I just plug my phone in via USB in my 2020. It’s better and less annoying than dealing with the wireless pad.

My Edge ST has a wireless charger, and it’s pretty much a novelty. Charges way too slowly to be useful.

You need a magnet on the back of your phone for it to work properly.

Looks like you’re missing the part that keeps the phone in place.

My 2024 has a lip, and I find it works better if the top of the phone faces the passenger side.
