Man, that’s disappointing. Was really hoping for Pro Power on board.
Same here. I’d replace my wife’s 2020 Expedition with an EV in a heartbeat. Just imagine it with a Lightning-style frunk and 400+ miles of range… that’d be amazing.
They’ve already spied the 2025 Tremor version: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a61984739/2025-ford-expedition-tremor-spied/
Looks like a Suburban from the back. And they’re adding even more screens to the interior. The prototype had 33-inch General Grabber A/TX tires, which looked great.
They should throw the 7.3 Godzilla engine in it!
Now that’s the right move.
Without a hybrid option, why would people go for this over the 2024s that are still on the lot? Ford has a bunch of them sitting out there. The new dash and tailgate sound cool, but unless they reveal some new features we can’t live without, I’d wait for a good discount on a 2024.
I’m just hoping this will bring down used prices. Me and my wife have been looking, but everything is a little too pricey for the miles right now.
Just please don’t make it another minivan!
Please Ford, just give us a 5.0 V8!
I read that Ford has a patent for a system that listens in on passengers to target ads better. Sounds a bit creepy, right? I’m sure they’ll sell the data too. Ford says they’re not using it yet, though. It’s in MotorTrend’s article, and they said patents don’t always reflect current business plans.
They should keep the 3.5 option, add a 2.7 Ecoboost hybrid, and throw in a Raptor V8 with Raptor suspension for the Expedition.
That front end looks like a Sierra with an extra light bar.
It’s funny they call it ‘all new’ when we’ve already seen what the Navigator looks like.
I read somewhere that Ford canceled their 3-row electric SUV, so who knows what’s happening next. I’ll crack up if it still comes with a 3.5 EcoBoost.
I’m in the market for a full-size SUV right now… what’s wrong with the 3.5 EcoBoost? I thought the transmissions were the main issue?
I’ve got a 2017 Expedition with the EcoBoost, and honestly, I’ve had no issues with the engine—170k miles and still going strong. Some folks had timing chain problems, but they seem to have fixed that in newer models. The transmissions were the main problem in certain years, but they’re better now.
My biggest gripe is that the newer models feel kind of lazy. I’ve been wanting to upgrade, but nothing really stands out. Sure, the screen is bigger, but I don’t care about that. The seats aren’t much better, and the second and third-row comfort hasn’t improved either.
I’d buy a 5.0 V8 Expedition without a second thought, but I doubt that’ll ever happen.
Got it. That makes sense. I’d love to see them offer the PowerBoost drivetrain. Full-size SUVs are perfect for camping and city driving, and it would be great to have that hybrid power in an Expedition. Surprised it hasn’t happened yet.
Same here, following this!
