Hey folks, quick question, anyone know why my 2015 Expedition’s front AC isn’t blowing cold air and the controls aren’t working? It’s getting pretty toasty out here in Texas.
That sounds like a classic case of the ‘AC gremlins’ Maybe check the fuse for the AC. It might just need a simple fix, or might be a blown fuse as well.
My buddy had that happen on a road trip, and OMG we had to drive with the windows down for hours I feel you.
I would check the refrigerant levels. If it’s low, it could be causing your AC problems. You might need a recharge.
Did someone say ‘AC gremlins’? If you’re not getting any response from the controls, could be a wiring issue. I had a short circuit in my old Expedition that caused all sorts of chaos. Best to get under the hood and take a look. Or, you know, hire a pro if you’re not feeling brave.
I’m a mechanic’s son , maybe compressor is shot. If it’s making weird noises or not engaging at all, you might be looking at a bigger repair.
I’ll check the fuses and the refrigerant first. Who knew a little fuse could cause such a big problem? Plus, who needs AC when you have the wind in your hair during a hike, right?
But, seriously, you don’t want to roast out there. It’s like walking around in an oven. Definitely check those fuses first before going into full repair mode.
I tried fixing my AC myself last summer, and let’s just say I ended up with more problems than I started with I learned my lesson—sometimes it’s better to leave it to the pros, especially if you plan on hitting the trails soon.
I also tried DIY fixing my AC once, and it was a disaster. But if you’re into hiking gear, at least you’ll have a great story for the campfire, right? ‘Hey, remember that time I thought I was an AC technician?’
Ha… That’s true. Thanks for the laughs, everyone. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes—hopefully not another campfire story.
