Maybe that should tell you something. I’d start at $200

I guess the worst that could happen is they say yes
@Hadi
Junkers/scrappers around here offer minimum $300. If that’s also the case where you live, may have to start with that.
I’ve done the shifter cable in that before. The cable tubing gets too hot and melts away. Really easy to fix. I did find it kind of tough to find the part and ended up getting it on eBay.
If 4x4 then yes. Ford half tons vehicles of that era i.e. Expedition and F150, had stronger front axles than GM models. So you can put a locker or limited slip into the front axle as well, not just the rear axle.
Not shifting into park maybe as simple an issue as a stretched shifter cable.
Rust would be the main issue to check. Rear trailing arms for example. Also all the pointing points where body is tied down to the frame. On my vehicle at one point it was found that the two mounting points to the frame under the engine had completely disintegrated. No difference in drivability though.
Having fixed up a rust bucket Eddie 2000, emergency cable, easy. Shift link cable and connector switch, easy. Brake lines, easy. Spark plugs that shoot out? That’s where I’m at with mine. Have 2 new heads and will solve that issue.
Worth it? Hell yes. Get it.
My problem with it not shifting into park was a dime that had slid in a crack by the shifter, and that was a real easy fix…
It will be time and money and won’t be worth it in the end. That’s my opinion.

Define worth please because that’s the real question I’m asking myself

How much are you going to put in it and how much do you anticipate having to put in it every year to keep it running? Say that total is 6k over five years, is that worth what you are going to use it for?
Personally I have gone this route and it’s fix after fix on an old vehicle that old and just wasn’t worth it to me in hindsight.
You should buy it before I do and my wife gets pissed there’s another vehicle in the driveway
Check the frame for rust. While under there, check the shift linkage.
It’s basically a 10th gen F150 with an SUV body. So unless it has like 400k miles, you’re probably good engine-wise. It will spit plugs. Everything below is cross-compatible with the 10th Gen when hunting for parts (like U joints).
She’ll be fun off-road if 4x4.
