Best All-Season Tires for Texas Heat?

Gotta swap the tires on my '21 Expedition with 20s. I’m in Texas and our heat eats tires fast. I don’t care about brand, just need something smooth, good in rain, and that’ll last. Any suggestions for something that can survive more than 10k miles?

Go with Michelin Defenders. Great in heat, rain, and you should get 50k miles easy.

Check out Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady. I live in Arizona, so similar heat. Lasting me 35k so far.

If you want tires that last, try Continental CrossContact. Had them on my Expedition, smooth ride and they handle rain like a champ.

You guys are going too fancy—just grab some Firestones. Cheap, and you’ll still get a decent run out of them.

Honestly, the only thing that lasts in Texas heat is a cactus. But seriously, try Pirellis. Solid tires for the price.

I’m hearing good things about the Defenders and Continentals. Do those work well in heavy rain, too? Texas storms get wild.

Yes to Continentals. I’m in Houston, never had an issue in downpours. Plus, quieter than I expected.

Quiet is a bonus. Firestones sound tempting, but I don’t wanna cheap out and regret it.

@BigSUVLover, seriously, Firestones are good if you’re on a budget. But don’t expect them to last past 25k, especially with Texas heat.

Whoa, whoa, I have Firestones, and they’ve lasted me 30k so far. Maybe you’re just hard on your tires, bro.

@ParriorSoul, I swear I’m not that bad. I just think Firestones wear faster in high heat. That, or I’ve got lead feet. :joy:

Haha, fair. But hey, depends on driving style. I’m more of a cruiser, you might be a speed demon. :eyes:

I had Firestones on my last ride. Honestly, felt like driving on bricks. Went back to Michelin and never looked back.

Agreed with @OverlandExpedition, Michelin is a smoother ride, worth the extra $. Firestones work if you’re ballin’ on a budget, though.

Oh absolutely. I’m just saying if you’re looking for long-term value, Michelin’s your best bet. Though Firestones are hard to beat for price.

Looks like it’s between Michelins and Continentals now. Appreciate all the input. Anyone ever tried those fancier nitrogen-filled tires? Worth it or nah?

Nitrogen? Not really worth the hype unless you’re driving a race car. Stick with regular air, way easier to manage.

Agreed. Nitrogen’s more for fancy dealerships trying to upsell you. Save the cash for something better—like road trips.

Nitrogen is just air that thinks it’s cooler than regular air. Stick to what works.
