Anyone know about 2nd row safety in the 2019 Expedition?

There’s been some talk recently about the safety of back seat passengers in different vehicles. I’m curious if anyone here has any info about the 2nd row safety in a 2019 Expedition.

I don’t remember all the details right now, but the safety ratings for my 2021 are pretty good

Check out crash test videos on YouTube for the Expedition. That should give you a good idea of what it looks like. Not all tests are done with people in the back seats, but their position in the car during an accident matters for their safety. The Expedition is a solid and safe SUV like most full-size ones.

This came up a while ago. It’s not scientific, but here’s a personal story: https://www.reddit.com/r/fordexpedition/comments/zlav4e/2019_ford_expedition_saved_my_family/

5-star crash test rating.

5-star rating, but it doesn’t really include the back seat passengers

I got one for my wife and kids. I think they’re among the safest vehicles out there. The only thing safer might be something like an F250 or F350.

Here’s what I did: I looked up the crash ratings online and watched the crash test videos on YouTube. You can also find crash images with the vehicle through Google.

“The crash tests also look at how well the dummies are kept in the safe space, preventing injury. They check if the dummy’s head stays inside the cabin or if it hits anything inside, and they also check if the dummy slides forward under the seatbelt, which can cause injuries. Newer tests focus on how safe the second-row passenger is during an accident. The key question is whether the vehicle protects second-row passengers from injury.”

The results are not very impressive here: 2023 Ford Expedition
