Hey all, so I’ve got a 2020 Expedition that’s been acting kinda weird with the airbag light. Sometimes it stays off, then randomly turns back on, but there’s always a yellow airbag warning on the dash that never goes away. Just got this car from the company fleet, and they didn’t give me any history on it. Any ideas?
Sometimes the seat sensors can act up, especially if something heavy is placed on the passenger seat. I’d check that first.
That could be something with the wiring. I’ve heard of loose connections causing those kinds of random lights. Might be worth having someone take a look under the seats or around the dashboard.
Interesting, I didn’t even think about the passenger seat. I do have a backpack on it sometimes. I’ll take a look. Thanks
Honestly, with no history on the vehicle, I’d just bring it into a dealer. Could be a small issue, but airbag stuff is tricky, and you don’t want to risk it.
I’ll get that sorted.
It could be a malfunctioning airbag module. My brother had to replace his on a 2018 model. Wasn’t too expensive.
I also wouldn’t jump straight to the dealer. Maybe just disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the system.
If it’s under warranty, just let them handle it. But yeah, definitely check the seat sensors and try that battery reset like others said.
