2025 Ford Expedition Platinum Ultimate… Thoughts on design and driving?

Ford just unveiled the 2025 Expedition Platinum Ultimate, and it’s stirring up a lot of opinions. What do you all think about the updated design and driving features?

Honestly, I’m glad we went with a 2024 instead. The new interior design is terrible in my opinion.

Same here. My wife and I just got our 2024 last month, and we’re so happy we didn’t wait. The 2025 looks awful inside and out.

Totally agree. I can’t get over that weird dashboard. The lack of real steering wheel buttons is a huge downside too. Definitely keeping my 2024 for a long time.

I waited to see the 2025 and said ‘no thanks’ because of that dashboard. Just picked up a 2024 Platinum yesterday instead—plus the discounts were too good to pass up.

As someone who loves tech, I think the dash looks cool. But honestly, my wife would refuse to drive it. Everything is hidden behind screens—steering wheel touchpads, lights on the screen, climate controls with multiple clicks. No way most people will want to deal with that.

My wife and I were waiting for the 2025 to decide, but after seeing it, we’re going to the dealership on Monday to order a 2024.

This whole design feels like a disaster. The front lights look like they’re ripped off a GMC Sierra, and the rear end screams Chevy Tahoe. The interior looks like a chaotic mess. How did Ford mess this up so badly?

@Vesper
I watched the press release, and it felt like the design team didn’t have the talent to pull off something new. Very disappointing.

I think the exterior is fine, but the interior is a dealbreaker for me. Once my lease is up on my Expedition, I’m heading back to Lincoln.

Gloss black plastic and touch-sensitive buttons on the steering wheel? Really, Ford? That’s what your design team came up with? It’s not futuristic—it’s just bad.

The grill and tailgate look awful unless the car’s in black. The interior might be something you get used to, though. Maybe people switching from other brands won’t mind it as much.

Way too much screen for me. What happened to buttons and a real dashboard? I’m out.

I actually like the front-end design and the minimalistic controls. Headlights are set-and-forget anyway, so why do people care they’re in the screen? I feel like a lot of the hate comes from people upset their older models depreciated.

I just placed an order for the 2025. I hated the old vertical touchscreen and thought the cluster was outdated. I also demoed the Lincoln Aviator’s similar system and loved it. The buttons and Google Maps integration were great.

Also, the Stealth package is finally available on other trims, which is awesome. I’m excited for mine!

I think the design is great! The front end looks so much better than the old droopy headlights. The interior and back are decent, but I agree the steering wheel is odd—flat on top and bottom for no reason.

Looks better in person, but I’m not sure why there are no fog lights or front recovery hooks. Maybe it’s a 2WD thing?

I like the front end and the split tailgate. But the dash is going to take some getting used to. I’ll hold off judgment until I can sit in one.

Black exterior with white leather interior? That combo is sexy as hell.
