I’ve got a 2020 Platinum Max with 63,000 km. Lately, I’ve been getting the “Powering system off to save battery” message more often, and it pops up sooner than it used to. Most of my trips in the last month have been pretty short. I’m planning to check the voltage level tonight. Anyone else dealing with this?
No problems with mine so far. I think I still have the original battery, but with winter coming, who knows what’ll happen.
I’ve already had to replace the battery in my 2021 Platinum. I think the auto-stop system might be hard on them, and the extra electronics (like massaging seats) probably don’t help. Just a heads-up—if you get a new battery from somewhere other than the dealer, you’ll need to have the dealership reprogram your car’s computer. Mine did it for free, and it only took a few minutes.
I went with another Motorcraft battery for my 2018. I try to stick to all Motorcraft parts, except for the oil. My Navigator’s battery went out about 8 months ago.
I had to replace the battery in my 2018 this summer. It went bad with no warning at all.
I had to change the battery in my 2019 last November. Just a heads-up—it might be time to get ready for it.
I had a 2021 Explorer ST that did the same thing after just one year with the OEM battery. I replaced it in the second year, and it started happening again 6 months later. I looked into it—it’s a common issue, especially on F-150 forums. It drove me nuts.
I’ve got a 2019 Max Limited, and I replaced the factory battery at the beginning of this year.
