I’m at a loss here and really need some help. I’ve attached a video showing what my Expedition is doing. This started two days ago, and it’s getting worse. The wrench light comes on, but if I turn the car off and back on, it resets and lets me drive a bit further. My commute is only 5 miles, so I’ve been managing, but I’m not sure what’s going on. Any ideas?
I’m no expert, but it sounds like it’s going into limp mode. My 2015 had a similar issue, and after checking the codes, it turned out to be a bad ignition coil.
This might be a throttle body issue.

I had something like this happen to mine. Replacing the throttle body fixed it for good. Cost me about $160.
I had a similar issue, and it ended up being a leaking pinion seal in the rear. Once that was fixed, the problem never came back. The shop wasn’t sure if it would solve the issue, but they told me to bring it in while it was in limp mode with the wrench light on so they could scan for codes. Mine is also a 2015, so you might want to check for a leaking pinion seal.
This is probably a digital throttle body issue. Mine did this a couple of times when starting up, but it never happened while driving. Turning the car off and on always cleared it.
I just got an update, and they’re saying there’s internal transmission damage. This is not what I was hoping to hear… fml.
