1 Month with Our 2023 Ford Expedition XLT

Hey everyone! It’s been a little over a month since my family and I bought a 2023 Ford Expedition XLT, and I wanted to share an update.

So far, the experience has been fantastic! It’s comfortable, drives surprisingly well for its size, and is pretty quick for such a big vehicle. The XLT trim came with more features than I expected—things like the 360-degree camera and rear parking sensors make maneuvering much easier, especially in tight spots like our garage.

My favorite feature has to be the ability to access the 3rd row without removing a child seat. As a parent, this is such a lifesaver, and I wish it were standard on all 3-row SUVs.

We’ve even tested its towing capability—my dad borrowed it to tow his 7,000-pound boat, and it handled the task like a champ.

The only downside so far has been fuel economy. A funny story: I almost got caught in a hailstorm because I was running on fumes (I blame my wife for that one). But honestly, it’s a big vehicle, so the lower MPG isn’t surprising.

Overall, we’re very happy with the Expedition. Thanks to everyone who helped us decide!

Ecoboost engines are either ‘eco’ or ‘boost’—you have to baby it for decent MPG. If you’re heavy on the pedal, the fuel economy goes out the window, but it sure is powerful.

What kind of real-world gas mileage are you getting? We’re thinking of getting a 2023 Expedition Limited, but I’m a bit nervous about the fuel costs.

We’re averaging about 18 MPG with most of our driving. It’s not amazing, but for a vehicle of this size, it’s not terrible either.

You’re lucky! I’m getting 11 MPG, but I tow with mine regularly. :joy:

@Addison
That’s not bad at all. We just went ahead and bought a 2023 Expedition King Ranch last night. Loving it so far!
